How much does it cost?
When you apply, you pay $680 in total from which $595 is for filing Form N-400 and $85 is fingerprinting fee.
Applicants age 75 or above pay $595 for filing fee only. They are not required to pay for fingerprinting fee.
Requirements To Become A US Citizen
You must meet the following requirements if you want to become a US citizen
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must be a green card holder for five years.
- You must have lived in the State for at least three months.
- You must be a continuous resident of the USA as a green card holder for at least five years.
- From the five years period you must have physically present/live in the US for at least 30 months.
- After application, you must have live in the US till you are naturalized.
- You must learn to speak, read and write Basic English and know the US history and government.
- You must be a decent person with good morals and character, and attached to the principles of the constitution.

How Long Does It Take To Get US Citizenship?
After application, it may take 12 to 15 months to get US citizenship.

How To Prepare For US Citizenship Interview?
You will be asked about 10 questions on US history and civic that you can answer in written or orally.
Practice small talks before you go for interview.
Try to memorize every information you fill in your N-400 form.
You should be able to read, understand and explain the “Oath of Allegiance” in your own words.
